What to Pack

Since you're already in the country, it's assumed you already know the basics like toiletries, medication, phone charger, etc.

  • WhatsApp for communication with your guide

 

Must bring
  • Bikini/ Swimming Trunks

  • Shorts

  • Clean T-Shirt for the evening

  • Earphones

  • Sunscreen

  • Mosquito repellent

Nice to have
  • Sports top - Temperature regulation

  • Lightweight trousers - Stop mosquitos

  • After-Sun - Someone always gets sunburnt

  • Lightweight rainproof coat - Or buy a poncho for 15k

  • Playing Cards - A fun way to socialize

  • Motion sickness pills - If you don't like buses

  • Earplugs and Eyecovers - For the Sleeper Bus

 

Don't bother
  • Thick jeans - They might get damp

  • Towel - Provided by the hostel

  • Anything unnecessary

Bring Cash

Two or three 500k notes for drinks which are about 20k each. If you are driving yourself then you need to bring about 6 million Dong for the police.

Clean Clothes

Both hostels on the tour can wash your clothes for 50k | £2 per kilogram if you give them to the reception before dinner.

Leave your Backpack

You don't need to bring all your stuff on this short trip, so you can leave a large rucksack with Ha Giang Hostel and just take a small one with you.

The Right Rucksack

You can buy a cheap fake branded bag in the Old Quarter.
